They use Carbon Hybrid Polypropylene cone that is rigid yet lightweight for tight bass response butyl rubber surround for durability the 1 Teflon soft dome tweeter for smooth highs and a cast aluminum basket. The Zobel crossover network incorporates a tweeter protection device and a 3-point Tweeter attenuation dial at 0 dB -2 dB and -4 dB. The KFCX1710's are rated at 2 ohms which means they are lower impedance [2-ohm vs. the standard 4-ohm] which maximizes your power output from a full range amplifier. The 2-ohm design gives you more headroom more dynamics and yes they will play louder.
